I have a JVC MP3 CD player in my car, and I was getting tired of only having access to just 700mb of music at a time so I decided to connect my Dell Axim with a 4gb microdrive onto there via a headphone jack input from the Axim into the input on my mp3 player.

I then set the car deck to EXT IN, which, in theory is what I should put it on right?

However no sound comes out of my car speakers at all. Any idea why this is? Is there anything else I have to do to make it work? Headphones work finely on the Axim, so it must be something about my car deck..

What can I doo?

I am not sure if you are using the right selection on the system for input.

I have a JVC MP3 deck with an input the same as yours, and I use it with an iPod, and it works great.

I have model KD-SH909

I was going to say make sure you have the Auxilary Input turned on. With my Alpine MP3 car player, I had go under the configuration and enable the AUX input, as it was disabled by default. It appears you've already done that, though.

Does it have inputs on the back too?

Whoo I got it working~

Apparently my EXT IN thing was for something you plug into the back. And to switch over to that one you push the "CD" button, which toggles between CD and EXT IN..like how the FM/AM button switches between FM/AM.

HOWEVER to get to the AUX mode, which is the front input, you have to HOLD the "CD" button down for about 3 sceonds before you can get into that third AUX mode..

I don't get why you have to hold it down..
