Input Level Equivalent to Human Hearing?

I am just looking at recorder specifications and the input level (mic sensitivity) is rated at -70dB. Is there a certain level that is considered to be equivalent to human hearing? Or is there a rule of thumb? Are there any things that can be used as examples when trying to compare an item that is -70dB to something like -90dB? And something that is -80dB would be 10 times as sensitive as something that is -70dB because dB measurements are generally logarythmic (sp?), right?

Thanks for any and all input!!
