Input device for HTPC: Remote or Wireless KB/Mouse

I finally have my HTPC running with GB-PVR installed and working! Now, what do I want for input devices. Obviously, I need a keyboard and mouse for navigating Windows and such, but what about for within the interface?

Is the Gyration wireless mouse / keyboard combo overkill or a good idea? Should I just stick with a remote? And which one?

Those Gyrations seem pretty slick. I've heard good things about GirdIR and I'm not a huge fan of the ATI remote.

How many hours would you say you put into GB-PVR to get it up and running smoothly?

Well...it's up and running. I still have to mess with the commercial skipping feature to see if it works well. So far, I can see TV, listen to music, record, pause, fast forward, and see the weather. To get to this point, I would say about 6 hours, maybe a little more. I was an idiot and had a problem with the program guide because I didn't set the time correctly on Windows. Whoops. Seems like a slick program, and definately worth saving the $80-150 instead of getting MCE or SageTV.

Anyone??? I think it would be a cool project to get GirdIR working, but those Gyration keyboard and mouse sets look miiighty temping.
