I don't know how it compares, but it is free and the updates are small, so it works for me.

I can't remember the site or the link comparing it to others, but it was the worst in the whole lineup at the percentage of virii it detected. They let loose 3000 virii on a system, most picked up 2900+, with PC Cillin being the winner, and Norton taking second.

InoculateIT only got around 2700 of them. Good for the price though. I guess it depends on how cheap you are, seeing as NAV 2000 cost only $30 last time I checked, with PC Cillin being even cheaper I believe.

In the Antivirus shootout that I read, Antivirus Shootout InoculateIT was the 2nd worse in detecting viruses. Panda Antivirus was the best, with PC-Cillin 2000 almost as good. I used Panda for awhile, but it was a resource hog. I have been using PC-Cillin since in both Win98SE & Win2000, and so far has caught a couple of Trojans that would have trashed my system. It is very good on resources also.

Another vote for PC-cillin, from a previous outspoken proponent of InoculateIt.
InoculateIt is free, and won't trash your system, and those are it's only virtues. Compared with PC-cillin it is indeed a resource hog, and very short of features, and only semi-reliable protection.
I have never had satisfaction with either McCrappy or Norton. The others I don't know.
