Hello. I just purchased Inno3D GeForce GTX 980 Ti iChill X3 Ultra. I've noticed that whenever I start or exit a game, I can hear a slight ticking noise, almost similar to a hard drive or disc drive click but softer.
But it seems to go away during gameplay. Just a tick... tick... tick... . It only happens when I first launch a game or close a game for about 30 - 60 seconds.
Its sounds like this:

No there is not any wires hitting.
RMA card then ?

my 980 had similar noise. I kept running it for about 6 months. Never had a crash or abnormal behavior or a blast...my assessment was that one of the fans was slightly bend. It hit something while accelerating and slowing down. U can use a custom profile and increase /decrease the fan speed and see if it the case with ur gpu as well.

To rma or not is ur choice.

I'd talk to Inno3D about it. They might have a few ideas to test out and give you an idea of how quick an RMA will be. Then you can decide whether a RMA is needed and whether you want to.
