This seems like a laughably simple concept but for some reason I seem to be having a hell of a time...

I'm looking for something really, really simple...an inline power switch, something that will plug into the wall, have a power switch and a 3-prong outlet on it to plug a device into, and simply do nothing more than give me the ability to switch said device on and off. Think kind of like a power strip with one outlet (you know how they all have on/off switches? yeah, like that).

However I seem to be having a hell of a time finding such a simple device, what gives? The closest thing I've found is this, and it's only a 2-prong, I'd have to manually wire up those ends to the plug (not a big deal, but I'd prefer a plug if I'm going to spend money), and its rated high enough for my lamps but that's about it.

Can anyone maybe point me in the right direction? I'm not averse to putting a device together myself, but I'd think something so simple would be easy to buy...

Thanks, i admittedly have very little experience with electrical stuff, so talk in laymans terms please :)

A power bar would have 6 outlets controlled by one switch. All I need is one outlet per switch, and I don't need such a bulky device to control just one outlet.

One of those computer power switching stations would work (where it has like 5 or 6 individual switches), but again, a little bulky.

go to home depot and get a timer/switch.
