Well, my crap HP Inkjet printer finally crossed me one too many times and I threw it out the window where it got the end it so richly deserves. Only problem is that now I need a replacement. Should I get another inkjet by Lexmark (which one?) or should I go laser and save myself the headache and if so what printer do you suggest. This is just for school use for papers and such. Thanks.

I've had 2 Brother Laser Printers and they work very well. One is a Borther HL-1020 and the other one I can't remember. The 1020 does 10 PPM and the other does 6. The 6 PPM one has lasted me 3 years and I've only replaced the toner 3 times on it. The 1020 is still using it's original toner....I got it in the summer..hehe.
Both are very good and the toners last about half a year. I mainly use it for school work and printing those long 15 page ariticles here at Anantech :). My dad also uses the printer a lot, printing at least 100 pages a week or more. (ok maybe a bit less:))

Laser printers are worth buying if you just want black and white text. I also have an Epson Stylus Photo 700 though ;). But I've only used less then 10x since I bought it, just goes to show how little color documents I print..lol.

I'd go with an Epson,

You should be able to find some good deals with the Stylus Colour 860, or go with their newer 880 or maybe even the 980
