InkJet "ink saver" software program???

Hey yo,

i heard a review of a software program that extends the life of injet cartridges by reducing the amount the ink the printer uses. I did a download.com and google search, but results were mixed. Does anyone know if there is a shareware/DEMO version of this type of program i could try? Thanks!!
