Inkheads clogged on older printer

Well I just adopted a used Canon Multipass C5500. The reason I got it is because the printer does not print anything recognizable. I have run ink head cleaning multiple times on it with no success. Both the color and black cartriges have been replaced with new ones.

Is there anyway to safely clean the inkheads? How would I go about doing that?

Thanks!

did you replace the cartridge, or just the two ink tanks? the cartridge has the printhead, and should be replaced....BJ-21e see here:

see the user manual for more details..if you don't have it, it's available on:

http://consumer.usa.canon.com

under support

If you did replace the whole thing, then there must be something else blocking it....q-tip and rubbing alcohol time...scrub scrub...anywhere reachable under the printhead

good luck
