I was about to purchase another pack of black ink for my HP deskjet printer then I came across Refillers from Office Depot.

Do they work just as good as the regular cartridge?

tried them in my lexmark z32 (or 33?)..some pos printer... i was successfully able to refill it twice...works okay, sucks for the first few pages and you gotta clean th ehead a bunch of times, too

if its just for draft work then refillers are a good way to go

My crackhead ex-roommate used them. Print outs didnt look any better, not really any worse. But Christ he was a mess afterwards. If its always that messy, I wouldnt bother. But then again, he was a crackhead so I dunno if thats the norm or not......

Used them all the time for my HP Deskjet and an old Canon B10. Saved about 70% of the cost of replacing the cartridges.
Never had to replace the cartridge on the Canon.
The HP has not been used in 2-3 years, so I expect to have to replace the cartridge depending on cost.

I purchased a black ink "Nu-Kote" system for my HP from Walmart. The ink kept oosing out of the jets. Ink was thin and runny. It got all over the roller. I took the cartridge and kit to Walmart and got my money back. A friend of mine had real good luck with refills, black and color. I'll try again in the future, but I'm buying from a place where I can return it if I have to!

I just bought a kit for my last refill on my epson stylus c40UX. I'd recommend not taking the cartridge out and refilling how they say - instead refill it leaving it in the printer. Should be a lot cleaner that way without crap getting everywhere.

That said I will continue to use these refill kits cause they are WAY cheaper, but the quality is not nearly as good. Even on the high quality setting things are a bit iffy with horizontal lines and what not. It's ok, but I wouldn't submit an official document printed out with these. You'll need to do the automated head cleaning once the refill has kicked in. Things may work better if you refill while it's in the printer though as I mentioned above.
