So, I have repeatedly fell on my tailbone for about two months. I took a nasty spill last night and now it hurts to move.

Does any one know of any good stretches or exercises that will help my tailbone feel better? Do these kinds of things even exist? I am not sure if my tailbone is broken or just really bruised.

TIA guys.

Shouldn't you be seeing a doctor about this? Particularly if it is broken?

Doctor's are expensive and I am not sure if it is broken. :( I am looking for home remedies first.

First of all, why are you repeatedly falling on your tailbone? Second of all - it's your tailbone... your spine. Your spinal column contains most of the major nerves that run through your body. You never wanna risk NOT going to the doctor with this. If you get nerve degeneration in your spinal cord because you were being cheap, you will be pissed at yourself. GO TO THE DOCTOR.

And those exercises don't exist. Depending on how low the vertebra is, you can sometimes do joint mobilizations, but again you would need a professional with significant training to do that. To get that, you'd have to be referenced by the doctor.

It's roller derby. Sucks that there are no real exercises or stretches I can do to help.
Not falling on my butt anymore could be a good start.
Guess, I'll be going to the doctor very soon. This sucks.

If there is swelling you should be icing it. Rather than using frozen peas, buy some dixie cups, freeze water in them, then peel off half the cup so you can apply the ice directly to the area, more effective (although might be hard without someone to put it in your ass for you).

You should buy some padded shorts, these are designed for snowboarding/skiing, I have some friends that wear them when they ride and say they help during hard falls: http://snowboards-for-sale.com/red_snowboard_pads/total_impact_short/. Might not look cool under your derby outfit though :)

I injured my tailbone a few years ago. It never swelled or anything, just seemed like a bad bruise, so I never went to the doctor.

It still hurts to stand up after sitting for a while to this day :(

Yeah, there isn't any swelling that I can see. There is a big deep purple bruise. I am going to buy some padded shorts in the meantime.

It feels a lot better today. I am going to baby it for a few days, if it doesn't feel better than I will go to the Dr.
