Injured my shoulder

I'm a long driver.........Its a golf thing.

I hurt my shoulder a couple of weeks ago and its still not better. It felt like a muscle thing so i figured time off would help, but it still isnt much better.

Whats the fastest way to get to the source of the problem? last injury i had i had to go to the orthopedic, appointment took a week, then go get an mri, another 2 weeks, then go back to the orthopedic, 2 weeks later. then physical therapy that didnt do anyhting for 4 weeks.

I dont have a month to wait, all the contests are in the next 3 months and qualifiers are this month.

should i just go to the emergency room?

Emergency room would be a waste of money. They'll run x-rays or MRI's or something, waste more of your money, and probably not be able to do anything. If anything, I'd go to a specialist; sports therapy or something maybe? I dunno. But regardless, I'd just wait it out. You go to a doctor and they're probly going to recommend expensive tests or medicine and tell you to come back in a month. The only way a doctor would be valuable here IMO is if you injured it so badly you needed surgery; but something tells me you'd have a better idea to go to the doctor if it actually needed surgey.

I feel for ya man! I too am a golf nut and have strugled for years with a rotator cup injury to my left shoulder. Torn rotator cup injuries are by far the most common golf injury, but unfortunately until it gets bad enough for surgery (several months of down time) there isn't much that can be done for it. I hope your problem is something less serious.
