Im 18. Ive been shaving since I was 16. Just recently Ive been shavin everyday. Im not sure whats wrong, but I always get ingrown hairs. Not on my face, but on my neck. I dont know what to do. Ive heard rubbing baby powder on your face before you shave with an electric razor will keep the razors from snagging the hair, but haven't tried it yet. The ingrown hairs are pretty painful. Its not really nasty, just the stubble gets stuck underneath the skin.

ewww electric? Use some mach 3's my friend with some sport gel.

Also what you might try is not to shave to close so the hairs don't go under the skin.

This thread has nothing whatsoever to do with the ordinary common house rabbit.

the neck is usually the place for irritation because your facial hair usually grows in an more random pattern there. To shave with less irritation, go with the grain; due the random pattern on your neck, going with the grain is more difficult. Experiment by shaving from different approaches. Also, consider shaving while showering; the added heat and moisture will reduce razor burn and irritation.

just switching from electric to razor might do the trick also; my skin can't handle an electric razor.

Could someone explain what an ingrown hair is? I know it's caused by going against the grain, but I've never (That I know of) had one...

It's when a hair either grows back into your skin(usually people with curly have have this) or when a hair gets trapped undernathe the skin but keeps growing.

I get massive irritation with an electric, but none at all with a Mach3 and some Gel. I shave my neck from the left ear to the right ear because it appears the majority of the grain goes in that direction...you'll have to experiment with your neck. ditch the electric!!! :)

ahhh razor burn I agree with everyone that has replied here. Electric razors suck. My skin cant handle electric razors and my skin isnt senistive. I use the gellette sensor or mach 3 and some gel in the shower. That I belive wil remendy all razor burn and bumps ie ingrown hairs..
Just my $.02

Ditch the eletric I tried shaving with it and well it irritated my skin so much I got pimples all over my face! :|

Now I just use the Mach 3! I think its the best out there and try shaving after you take a shower that always helps me otherwise my skin is too hard or rather the hairs are too hard.

yeah, i have been mach3 for a year now, can usually get away without any gell if i shave after a shower, but when i want good and close, i go with gel, and both with and against the grain, can get nice and smooth, too bad i aint had a chance for any one (my girl) to appreciate it
