Went to home branch this morning and explained the situation. They told me ING was wrong. BOOYA. I got the card of the customer service manager and told her to expect a call from ING. Went home fuming and about ready to pull all of my thousands of g's out of there. Oh right, I can't do that, I don't have my client number. Call ING, ask them to speak to a manager. Current rep is probably trained not to do that unless it's a last resort; I explain instead to him wtf my problem was. This guy tells me that because my bank merged, there is a different number from when I registered. How the France am I supposed to know that? And wtf didn't the previous reps tell me that in the past? Dude speaks to his manager, hooks me up with my info. He apologized profusely and thanked me giving ING another chance.

Rant valid. I win. :p
