ING Direct Account Question.. My account is locked..

Hi,

I signed up for an online savings account with ING Direct and got the $50 sign up bonus. I tried to remove the money a few days later and there was a note that said that a restriction was put on my account. I said fine an since it is a good interest rate, I deposited about $300 into the account. I just went to try and pull $50 out of my account and it says that there is still a restriction on my account. WTF?

I wouldn't even be writing this right now if the customer service wasn't closed. I guess I will find out tomorrow what is up.

I guess I would like to know if anyone else had their accounts freezed? My guess is that it's because a lot of people were signing up for the bonus and then pulled the money out of the account. I still think I should be able to get what I deposited out of the account at least. If they are going to restrict anything, they should restrict that $50 and not my money.

Have you verified the account yet? I'm guessing you have, since you withdrew the money, but it is worth asking.

Gosh! That company's interest rate has been very tempting to me, but I'm not willing to link My chequing account with my savings. It's just not what I want. Also, soemthing about the colour scheme of the site makes me feel as if I am in a foreign place. I don't like that feeling.

Hmm hearing all these locked account stories makes me flashback to the old x.com (now known as paypal) who would lock accounts left and right, never give any response to why, and basically just give the customer the worst online experience ever.

My account is verified. I verified the two small amounts and the accounts are linked. I was able to deposit money into my account, but not take anything out. It says to call customer service at their number and I will once they open tomorrow. I had tried to pull the money out after 10 pm CST and they close shop at 11 pm EST.

Vegetation.. You have heard other stories about locked accounts with ING? If so, where? I didn't pull up anything on a search.

BTW.. I have had 0 problems with PayPal so far. I've only been a member for a little over a year though.
