Anyone else love a shot or four of espresso, but not like paying 4$ for it. This 6-cup espresso makermaker is on sale right now, spend 25 for free shipping, maybe get some gourmet beans from their new gourmet foods store.

The reviews are great! mmm...

It is very strong coffee. You find it mixed with milk in cappucinos, lattes and mochas. Some people drink it by itself in little cups.

i have this, and it doesn't make true espresso.

pretty strong coffee, but don't expect it to make espresso like a $300+ machine will.

What? This is the best type of equipment to make expresso. If you are not getting good results you are probably using either the wrong kind of beans or you are not processing the beans correctly when you grind them. I know coffee, I've been drinking it since I was about 7 yrs old.

This type of machine (unless I am mistaken) uses pressure from boiling water to force the water through the ground coffee. Most experts state that this is too hot and too high pressure for good espresso. The best machines use a pump to force water at a slightly lower temperature through the coffee.

I used to use one of these, and i must admit it used to scare me. I use a pump machine now and it does make better espresso.

No, Richardito, Iamme is right. This is a "moka pot". It makes a strong coffee but not really espresso. Real espresso comes from a machine with a electric pump or a big lever like you see in cafes (there are also home pump machines). A pump creates 9 bar (135 psi) of pressure to squeeze the good stuff out of the coffee. A moka pot can only generate around 1 bar using steam pressure. Also a moka pot has no steam wand so there's no way to foam milk for cappuccinos and lattes. Still in a lot of cultures (Italy, Latin countries) a moka pot is how they brew coffee at home - they are as common as Mr. Coffee is here. Nothing wrong with it but it is not exactly espresso like you get in a cafe.

Also the deal is not particularly hot ...maybe $5 off the list price. And this one is made of aluminum. A lot of people feel aluminum leaves an aftertaste and prefer stainless moka pots.

Technically it is a espresso. Espresso is any coffee where mostly steam goes through the cofee, instead of a water - like in a drip machine. Still, I would not call this espresso., the coffe that that makes is not as good as one of the electric espresso machines and you don't have a milk frother.

I also have to say that I don't think this is a good deal. You can get one of this a Mexican market, provably around the same price. Is the tipical coffe machine overthere, like in Spain. I grew up drinking a shot of that with milk, I graduated from cocoa to coffe around 11 years old, and I'm still 6 feet tall. ;-)

It makes good strong coffe though for sure.
