Infrared with Fuji Finepix S5000

Does anyone know if it is possible to take infrared photos with Fuji Finepix S5000?

Does it take filters? If it does, don't you just attach the appropriate filter(s)?

Hmm, I have one. I have no idea!

I do know that on night-shot it takes in a hell of a lot more ambient light than your eyes do. Something can be very dark but with the long exposure it grabs a lot of light. Just make sure it's on a tripod

Is there maybe a filter in photoshop that converts normal images to infared?

Im looking for the cheapest way possible.

I don't know if the CCD is capapble of picking up infrared wavelengths.

If it is, however, what you need to do is go to your local photo store and pick up a 52mm (I believe that is what the S5000 takes) infrared lens filter. It shouldn't set you back more than about $40
