Where can I find an infrared reader to plug into the infrared header on my Abit NV7-133R? I want one for connectivity between my cell phone and my computer.

Thanks

My coworker found a USB infrared port on the internet to transmit data between his cell phone and his computer... Try doing a search for USB infrared port on the internet, should be pretty easy to find... He got his on eBay for quite cheap...

$18 @ Newegg
This is listed for an Epox motherboard but will work with any. I have it working on a Soyo Dragon KT333 Ultra and a friend has it working on an ECS K7S5A. It is exactly what you need. Newegg recently dropped the price $10 and I've seen the same thing in a generic box listed for $49!

Thanks for the link. Just curious, what is the pin arrangement on the IR header on your MB? Mine is in a 2x3 arrangement like drawn below, but the picture on Newegg looks like the connector is for a straight row of pins.

Left | Right
------
|*| | NC | No pin
------
|*|*| +5V | GND
------
|*|*| IRTX | IRRX
------

You can take the pins out of the straight plastic piece and match them to your motherboards pinout if need be.
Mine is a straight line and I may have had to rearrange the pins. I think the ECS is as you describe.
