Finally DSL is available on my line (before cable), so I've decided I may as well take what I can get. Anybody have any experience with either Infospeed (Bell Atlantic/Verizon) or Earthlink. Downspeed, upspeed, service, consistency, etc...

Thanks

My one neighbor got DSL from Verizon about a month ago. When it was first installed he had madly fluxating speeds, and often times the connection woudl just comp out. The tech supports were idiots...but now the connections stable and he generally gets pings of around 70 in Half-Life servers, and downloads at about 40kbs in napster.

Another of my friends got DSL from Earthlink, his was installed the week after he ordered (my neighbhors took almost 3 weeks to be installed and setup) and he's had no problems with it. Gets fairly good download speeds, anywhere from 30-75kbs from what hes told me.

I've read some real horror stories about Verizon's DSL installation and support. Haven't heard much negative about Earthlink. I use their dial up service and have always been satisfied with their system.

Pershiate it fellas. I ordered my Earthlink DSL today. I know my current phone lines are wack. I'm only getting 24000 dialin connections...so the DSL may not be amazing with the crap line I have, but it'll blow away what I have now.
