I've suffered from some malicious connections since last year. Currently installed personal firewall software functions properly for script-kiddies but often unreliable for well-trained crackers. They try defection to firewall software and delete help files and change hidden settings that make my system performs in strange manner. Once my ip address has been changed there seems less attempt of such connections. What I wanna learn from you group of people is informations in regard to network security website including internet security. Reviews about firewall software and hardwares, especially specialized for windows users. If you have at least one of tip of advices, please post here in order to give me warm hand. Your attention will be great assistance to my safe networking and internet life.

you possibly have trojans hiding other trojans.

Also get wormguard.

3. a software firewall you already have, like ZA. After you get the router your software firewall be a lot less busy.

Macro2, thank you for your reply. As mentioned in your reply hardware router is in my consideration but I have insufficient amount of information which one is best for my purpose. Which one do you suggest? and any good reviews written about hardware routers?

There are routers and there ARE routers. Home/SOHO "wired" routers can be had for as low as $10-20 dollars after a rebate. While not as configurable as a commercial grade routers they can do a good job. Some of the more popular ones are made by SMC, Netgear, Siemens, Linksys, D-Link etc...
I recall most of them coming set to block most traffic but someone else might know more about just how they come. I'm most knowledgeable of Cisco routers that can go into the thousands of dollars.
I do have a couple siemens home routers at home and they block the script kiddies quite well right out of the box.
