Information on tracfone phones - Nokia 252C ?

Alright, I got one of these Nokia phones for Christmas - except it's packaged by a company called tracfone. The problem is, the usage plans by the company suck - it's prepaid and the prices are outrageous (60 prepaid minutes would cost as much as a monthly plan with Sprint or Verizon with 10 times as many minutes). I've heard that these phones are incompatible with other cellular companies - does anyone have any information about these phones?
