Information on Speakeasy DSL

My current roomate and I are moving to separate places. He's gonna be hurtin on cash for awhile, but still wants to get some sort of internet. He doesn't have/want a landline, he just got a decent cell phone service, and wants to cut back on bills (So no dialup, and no expensive cable inet)

Does anyone have ANY information on this service from www.speakeasy.com, it's available at the place he's moving. Any idea on how their pricing is, how reliable they are, speed of service, customer service, and just things to watch for. Any information would be appreciated so I can help him out a lil bit.

Any other solutions would be appreciated (I told him he could do dial-up with his cell phone, but the adapter was 60 bucks and he doesn't want to use min utes)

He doesn't use the inet very much, but he wants to have it available regularly (Dialup would be best, but he doesn't want to go to landline)

Thanks ahead of time.

Qwest DSL is ridiculously inexpensive - as little as $25/mo. Also might have him shop around to some local ISPs who may give him service for near cost if he agrees to low usage - I've seen that a couple times in the industry.

Thanks for the help guys, I feel bad cus I'm movin in with my fiance so we're not gonna be splittin a cable inet bill anymore, so I wanna try and help him out.

Not any good reports on that site for our town, and qwest doesn't service pittsburgh at all (That's where we're at)

Not sure about local services. This is pretty crappy in this area, especially since comcast pretty much owns the city.

Cheapest option: get a ~$20/month landline phone line, and then use
NetZero's free 10 hours/month dialup ISP. Or, more hours can be had by
rotating among the various "free 30 day trial" dialup ISP's.
Several "get paid to try for 30 days" ISP offers at searchcactus.com, or giftfox.com.
Note: a ~$40/month cell phone is NOT the less expensive option.
