Okay so I have been interested in buying an MP3 player. Although the new iPod Nano looks awesome and is easy to use, I feel that I can get better for less if I stay away from the iPod craze. I have been looking at Creative Zen Micros and found this...

Now, this seems good for the price because I don't need some massive 60GB player. 5GB will/would be enough for as long as I need it. So I need advice and a few answers. I liked this because it has a built in FM tuner and looks good. I used search and found some answers about quality and utility and it looks solid. However, I have to know if I would be able to use iTunes to upload songs to it. Currently, all music is on iTunes (others in family have iPod). It wouldn't be a huge deal if it didn't work, but I have to know. I don't want to have to jump through several hoops to upload music, but it doesn't have to be idiot proof either. I am looking for a quality player that has more "uses" than an iPod (but please tell me if steering away from iPod is bad because the music quality is most important).

dude.

in the end it comes down to the software.

crappy software means that your mp3 player will be collecting dust on a shelf or that you will be listening to the same damn songs afor the rest of your life because you will fret over having to use bad software a second, or god forbid, a third or fourth time.

Check out the iRiver? It supports the ability to just plug it in and use it as a "pen drive" though you might need to checkout some forums to figure out how to do that.

what he said. I own a Zen Touch 40gb. I use Notmad Explorer to transfer files back and forth to my device because the Creative software sucks. I am still waiting on the Firmware upgrade that they promised a year back.

I heard the 5gb Iriver h10 is pretty good. the zen micro is also ranked up there with the ipod mini.

i'd go for it.
