What year/model do you have and how many miles per gallon can you get with your car? What your usual and what?s your record?

I especially want to hear from you if you have a new Hybrid, or anything else with a CVT auto, because the new technology behind those is cool as, well, you know. :)

I have a ?92 Civic LX 5 spd with 138,500 miles. If I?m delivering in the city, I get as few as 24 MPG, but I just got 43 MPG driving home from Chicago to Minneapolis last Thursday. The windows were up and the A/C was recirculating on the lowest fan speed. Speed was between about 73-79 MPH.

My old dog just killed it's second tranny in 7 months [being fixed under warranty for free [whew]] ... anywho, when my 1982 toyota 4x4 pick is running, the gas mileage is:

16 MPG City
21 MPG Highway
27 MPG Personal best -- about a 150 mile stretch of flat and downhill ...

The engine, though small, has a good bit of torque, but it's pretty slowand gets crappy gas mileage. But I love my truck :)

I have GAZ 69 from year 1958, 3 speed manual with ~500 000km, average fuel consumption last time it moved was about 25L/100km (probably sth like 35-40L/100km in the city)...

I have a 95' chevy silverado truck. it sure looks damn good, but it is a dog. I have only measured the MPG once, and it was about 13. I am sure it has to do with the way I drive, though. (I have a lead foot).

I think I get good milage on the highway, though. My truck is quite slow, but I was able to hit 100 MPH yesterday (in the middle of nowhere, no cars, not for long).

I am about to sell this truck and get a nissan maxima, though, so I am sure that will do much better.

Pritt, could you post a conversion factor. We ugly Americans have no idea what that means. We only know Ye Olde English measurements.

12:disgust:

I'm hoping a new distributer and some carb adjustments get it up to 15 or so....but stomping the throttle is so much fun!

I just calculated my cars last week. It's a 92 Buick Century with a 3.3l V6 and 3 speed auto tranny. It get's 23mpg on an all highway trip (between Boston and New York city). In the city and around town it's around 19mpg. My truck, which I hardly drive, is a 97 Chevy Silverado with a 5.7 liter V8 Vortec, all American muscle:) It get's around 17-18mpg on the highway, 15mpg around town. This is without an automatic tranny and 4 wheel drive.

2000 Hyundai Elantra

city: 15 - 18 mpg
highway: 18 - 22 mpg

But I think I would average better if I didnt run my A/C all the time.

Damn that's kind of low, I thought one of Hyundai's strong points was the gas mileage of their cars.

Heh.

93 Jeep Wrangler - 31x12.5" tires - about 13 mpg, no matter what. Might have seen 15 once.

91 Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo - About 12 city, 22 highway. 18 when towing jetskis. ;-)

Yeah I used to have $4000 of computer gear too. Then I realized what kinds of bigger and better toys I could be getting... hehehe
