hi all
this is mearly a info or warning post because of what just happened to my 2 ocz vertex 30gb drives that i brought last year, about 9 months ago. they have both suddenly stopped working, from a running state. they have been in raid 0 for 6 months, but when i started on my 2nd semester i put one of them in my laptop, and it died 2 weeks ago, just rebooted the pc from windows and could not be fund in bios anymore. 4 days ago the other drive witch was in my desktop machine died, exatly the same way, reboot, cant be fund again, its totally dead.
i just wanted to tell this great site about it, i am ofc getting my money back, so its not a complain over the service, just a warning, that if we start to see these drives die like this, the meantime before faliure might be of.
i have not overused the drives, i have all my data on a server with raid5, so they have only been used for windows and office. not even games.
i have upgraded them first to 1.41 then later to 1.5 both time it was painless, and before each time a new windows have been installed i have used sanitary erase.
hope this helps some one. anand if you are keeping any track about faliures on ssd disks here are good candidates, that something is wrong.
best regards
