I placed an order today for a new PC, and I wanted to go low on the video card. I chose the standard 5900 for my card.
When I called to order (thank god I did) he told me they are almost out of 5900s, and they were going to replace them with 5900SE.
Now, I dont do any flashing, overclocking or any of that, so I asked what was an alternative. I knew I could move up to the 9800pro for a little over 100 bucks from the 5900. I am buying a replacement card when the next gens are released, so I wanted to avoid that price for a card.
ANYWAYS, long story short, I chose the 5700 Ultra for about 4 dollars more. What have I done?
Pros, Cons? Will this card work for the next couple of months on present games? What did I lose from the 5900 or the 5900se? Did I gain anything as a 5700 'Ultra'?
Thanks!
Bruce
