I have seen questions about using Catalyst drivers on IBM T41P laptops. Here is ATI's answer:

"The Mobility FireGL T2 in the IBM T41p is a DirectX 9 compatible chip, and will allow you to play todays hottest games. such as Need For Speed Underground, Call of Duty, etc.. Drivers for this device is available from IBM only. CATALYST drivers are for desktop graphics board products only."

Hope this answers a few misconceptions out there.

Well I wouldn't have expected a different answer from ATI. But I can assure you there are lots of people using Catalyst Drivers
on notebooks, me for one Iam currently running CAT 3.7 on my T40 much better performance.
