I am about to receive one of these motherboards from another person on Anandtech. I have also purchased an AMD 2500 (Barton) CPU with a 333 mhz FSB. I am told that this board can be used with this cpu at the 333 mhz fsb. Does anyone know how this would be done?

Thanks

Not sure, probably OCing the fsb & voltage settings & stuff, looks like your in a similar predicament as me, I have an AOpen AK77-333 board that only supports up to 266fsb CPU's, but supports upto DDR333, using the the KT333 chipset, if its possible with your board to use a barton at its native fsb, then I'd like to know how to do the same with my board, I thought Aopen was the only ones that pulled a fast one on their customers, they unofficially claimed that they would support 333fsb cpu's down the road, but then not too long back they said that they would never be able to support 333fsb cpu's on this board, for technical reasons, some sort of problem where stuff on the board would not work if running a barton on it. I want a barton, but don't want to have to get an entire new set-up & reinstall my entire OS & games & stuff to do it though.

Thanks for the reply ShyguyMX6. Do you or does anybody think this combo will not work at all?

Shouldwork fine. Here is a site with links for reviews done on this board. Looks like a solid board.

The only that sticks out to me is that you may not get the bus to run a 400 and it only 4x agp. But that is not a big deal if you don't plan on upgrading in the next year. By then we'll be seeing. More 64ibit cpu and pci express.

Hi

Yes, 333Mhz CPU are supported. Look at the Bartons up to 2800+.
