Infinity Primus 250 ~$75 ea., cheap KLH for surrounds, $50/pr Insignias

Infinity Primus 250 @ Outpost

Seems to be pretty decent, probably better than the Polk R30/50 that Outpost sometimes runs for about this price. Shipping is fairly high (big heavy speakers), being about $40 for a pair of them.

Outpost also has some cheap KLH bookshelfs.

They're probably barely even worth their price, but if you need surrounds they would sufficen until you could upgrade, and I mean for $20 you're not out much, so if nothing else you could always light em on fire if they suck. Grab a cheap reciever or two and use them for parties.

Best Buy has some Insignia speakers on sale for $50/pr (some have gotten them for $40), and they're getting pretty positive feedback at AVSForum and some other places. Seems like the verdict is that they're better than their price but for not a whole lot more (2x price) you could do better.

So a couple of ok deals if you're wanting to setup a HT or something.

Those KLH look similar to some that I have... really good sound for the price (got them years ago for $30/pair). Generally speaking you don't find speakers of any quality this cheap and these aren't bad. I wouldn't call them good - I have a pair of BIC Venturi 502 and a pair of 602 in the house that sound better, but of course cost much more. Never seem to be able to jump on the Polk R15 deal for $40/pair so don't know how those stack up.
