Well now that i've decided on the SP23 w/ bose soundsystem, i want to add some more bass...

It already has a small woofer under the passenger seat but its small, so i don't expect much from it...

I dont need anything that makes me lose my breath, but i want something that will fill in the low end nicely...

Should i get;

Infinity Basslink (10" 200 Watt amp included) - $160ish

Or a small box, maybe a JL 3, and a 300 watt amp?

I want to keep as much of my trunk open as possible and want to be able to remove the setup if need be...

sp23..mazda?

I've heard Bose systems are a real pain to modify...do you think you will need to apply a crossover to the whole system, or while jsut replacing the sub suffice?

I have a Bass Link and it works great. Hardly any trunk space taken and plenty of boom. Not enough so the people down the street can hear it, but enough to make you feel it in your seat.

Im not gonna replace anything, just add to it using LOC or speaker level inputs...

if you set up quick remove connections its not terribly hard. also instead of drilling in to your trunk i recommend you drill into a piece of wood, attach the basslink to it. then epoxy wood to the trunk. that way no concern about the trunk, and u can easily unscrew the basslink.

I approve :thumbsup: It hits cleaner but not nearly as deep as traditional subs. A chick I dated had 2 12's in a custom box and I wasn't impressed with it compared to the BL.
Must have been a pretty crappy box and/or drivers.

I agree :) It sucked pretty bad, but then again what do women know about car audio? :)

Depends on how you install it. It's pretty much four screws that you can screw into anything you want....I've seen people use heavy duty velcro instead. But I wouldn't recommend that. So pretty much take the screws out, disconnect the connections (I think 4 of them) and youi've got your trunk space back.
