Infinity Basslink now installed :)

Update: finally installed the Infinity Basslink. Like a few people said - well there's no way the ring terminal was going to fit on the + terminal, so I just put it between the clamp and put the screw through. All in all the install took me about 4 hours including cleanup, but then again I've never done an amp/sub install so I was pretty nervous. No grounding issues - drove it around and none to speak of. I just need to tune it. Special thanks to KEV1N for putting up with my lame ass questions and for helping me out 🙂

Ok I managed to sneak some 4 gauge power wire through an existing grommet (took me like half an hour but I'm a car amp/sub virgin) - the hardest part was getting that fricking inline fuse through the grommet.

Anyway - the ring terminal attached to the power wire is too small for the battery post. (+) What exactly do I do to attach it? Head to Radio Shack and buy a bigger one? Attach it to the screw around the + post? Break the terminal and just put it on there?

A quick response would be perfect, thanks 🙂

whatever is convient for you. as long as it is neat, fused, and convient for anybody that may have to screw with the battery its all good. instead of running it to the battery an you get it onto the hot side of the solenoid relay?

perhaps not the best person to take advice from....but yes, u can just attach it to the screw....as long as it maintains constant contact w/ the terminal, its all good

Thanks for the tips - got it installed. It's only an Infinity Basslink - 200w self enclosed, but it adds the perfect low end to my car. I still need to tweak with the settings big time though.

you used 4ga cable for a basslink? hmmm 8ga woulda been fine imo., and uhh, just to let you know, you can or should be able to disconnect the fuse holder thing so you can put the power cable through the gromet easier.

TK - no a 8 gauge. I had a 4 gauge kit earlier this week but with ATOT's advice went with an 8. Couldn't really find a 10 or a 12 though - 8 was perfect. The fuse holder was non-disconnectable - I just put tape all around it and the coat hanger and just massaged it through, like I was going backdoor on a woman. Err....um.....yea, something like that 😉 I was sh!tting a brick though b/c I had no idea where the power cable was going to be when it came out the grommet. Finally saw it after 20 min of pushing.
