Saw one in dark grey near the National Portrait Gallery this afternoon. It was an "S" model and appeared to have been lowered and was sporting 20" wheels. Dark grey. Tinted windows.

Was hot in my opinion. Handsome car compared to snooze jobs like the BMW 5-series.

Considering the G37S is bargain basement prices at 32k till 2015 when its discontinued. I find it hard to consider this car since it shares the same engine.

Yea this is the updated G37. That's not a bad thing as I think the G37 was over due for an update.

The interior is much improved IMO. Reminds me of the difference between the first gen CTS and 2nd gen.

Yes. I was not impressed with how it looked when I first saw what the design was on the net... Then I saw one in person. It looks mint. Really mint.

If i had 60k for a car, it would be the Q50. I've sat in it, performance is sweet, handles wonderfully (not quite as tight as a BMW) and alot more character than the current 60K BMW and mercedes offerings.

If you can get ANY G37 for that price, let alone the sport model...holy shit that's a smoking deal. Anyone in the market for a sporty RWD car would be nuts to not take that. IIRC G37 base is usually around 37-38k nowadays.

As for the Q50...meh. It shares a lot with the recent M redesign, but I like the latter better.

This one has way too much of the Mercedes 'I left my car out in the sun and it melted and/or a giant picked up my car and bent it over his knee' kind of vibe.

edit: also, I think this is an official 'RIP' to logical number naming systems. BMW nixed it, Mercedes nixed it. Americans never used it. Maybe Lexus has kept with it? But this should be the 'Q37;' changed to the herp-derp 'Q50' by the marketing department, surely because they had already made a 'Q45' (...with the 4.5 V8) and had to do at least five better. I wonder if the M56 is going to be become the M70 or something?

http://www.infinitiusa.com/sedan/g-sedan?dcp=nml.gsdn.vlp.infiniticom_modelpage

Starts at $32,850 + $2,500 for the memory seats/Bose/moonroof

add another $1850 for the navigation package.

Honestly I could do with a base and it's got me second guessing my 2015 WRX Limited ($28k + tax/fees) and getting one of these around invoice.

They discounted them last year when the Q came out. :) However, you can't get the 6sp MT anymore. Last year you could.

G37 will be discontinued after MY 2015.

Where do you see that? The G37 was replaced by the Q50 and there is not a 2014 G37 MY on Infiniti's site.

All Infiniti now starts with Q. Displacement is no longer a part of official model name. As you know, G Sedan became Q50 and G Coupe became Q60. M is now Q70 (Official website is already out).

As a former G37x Coupe owner and a current EX35 owner, I just don't get all these naming change Nissan is trying. Vehicles I have owned were G & EX, not Q60 and QX50. lol

Yup. G37 sedan that the dealer carries are actually 2013 MY. With the introduction of 2014 Q50 (In other word, there was no 2014 G37 Sedan. All 2014 G37 were Coupe) in early 2013, each dealer now has hundreds of G Sedan's that are just sitting in dealer lot. That's why they are giving a lot of discount (Because some of them are almost 2 years old since manufacture date!) to get rid of those G37.

In fact, when I shopped for new car last month, one of my local dealer, which had 100+ 2013 G37 Sedans sitting in lot (lol), was willing to accept an offer as low as 5% below invoice from me.

I didn't no that the G37 is going away, nor did I know that the Q50 is its replacement. It seems to have grown in size/a 5-series competitor. Means there is plenty of space for one or perhaps two new models to slot under it. 3/4 and 1/2- series competitors?

Actually, G37 sedan & Q50 are about identical in size. 187x70x58 vs 188x72x57. Only about 1 inch longer and 2 inch wider. G37 has been always on the bigger side of segment, but still a lot smaller than 5 series, which is about 193 inch long now.

But I also believe Infiniti will bring some 1/2/CLA/A3 competitor sooner or later as the market is getting bigger and bigger.

It's a nice looking car but I'd have to be wow'd by the drive. I haven't gone and test drove one yet but I struggle to picture how this competes with the S4/A6, 3/5 series, GS350, or c/e from Merc.

I loved the G37 when it was released but at this price point you are pushing it into a new category and the question is can it really compete as a $50,000 car? I own an S4 and when I replace my car in a few years it's going to be a complicated decision given whats going on in the market. I doubt it will be an Infiniti though.

not bad, at least it doesn't really look like one of it's Nissan brothers.

I like the look of it, but when I was researching it apparently it is having tons of issues with its infotainment system and infiniti is sort of shrugging. Also the price is putting it in a category with some really stiff competition that I don't think infiniti can compare favorably to.

Whenever I look at these things I always have to remember it'd cost probably another grand or two just to get my stereo system installed in it. I miss the days when you could just buy an install kit and pop the headunit in yourself. :(
