Infiniti FX - Opinions?

My current lease is up in March and I'm really leaning towards an Infiniti FX35. Since the 2006 models come out in early February, I plan on getting a great deal on a 2005 model. I know there aren't many of these cars around, but I'm curious what the car guys think of it?

If you have any other suggestions, go ahead and post. My only requirements are that it has to be 4-door, have enough room for kids/baby seat(s), look good, and monthly lease payment of $450-500, $0 down of course.

I've looked at alot of the $35k entry luxury cars, but I just seem to keep coming back to the FX.

The FX is getting a major refresh this spring - so you run the possibility of your vehicle looking dated. I like it though - I say test drive it, and see if you like it. :)

although performance is superb, I just can't get over the looks. Even the Murano is better looking and I'm not a fan of the bubble cars to begin with.

I rented one for a week. I felt that it drove like a truck more so than other SUV's that I drove, but maybe it was just the one I had. The looks are nice though.

I like the exterior, i like the performance, and i like the drivability. It feels like a car. What i couldn't get over, and the reason i decided not to get the FX is the interior. The seats are great, but the dash and center is absolutly horredous. There are buttons all over the place and the steering wheel controls are the worst and cheapest i've ever seen-and you can't get it without them (which i would prefer over that crap). If you can get over the plasticy cheapo interior, then its an awesome car, IMO.

The only downside is that the AWD version only gets 16MPG. Coming from a Jetta 1.8T that got 23MPG, its a step backwards, but its a price I'm willing to pay.

my brother has one and we were close to getting one as well. with two infants and a large dog the fx was just too small. everything else is nice, with discounts we were actually aiming to get the fx45 but for the cramped interior.

I have the FX45, and I enjoy it, but it's not the car I spent the most time in, tbh. It's got the nice throaty Z sound, but it's not the roomiest thing in the world. For the money, there are other, better options.

Such as? I'm still 4-5 months from my decision so its not set in stone. What other alternatives do you suggest I look at?

I test drove one before leasing a MDX, the interior is sooo small. My gf's Honda Accord has more interior space! I do admit it drives alot sportier than the MDX and looks better too.
