Trailer

Action RPG made by Microsoft, Tri-Ace and Square-Enix(?).Game looks interesting and the story seems good. If you can turn off the voice acting it'd be nice.

Man, I used to eat this JRPG stuff up as a kid, but now I'm incredibly apathetic about it.

These Japanese stories are usually so incredibly off-the-wall that you reach a point of acceptance that you just aren't supposed to understand what's going on or you just aren't smart enough.

Now they've taken it to a completely new level by just making up new words. Undiscovery?

Also, the voice acting was pretty bad.

I think this RPG was made by Microsoft and later on in development they called up Square-Enix for additional help.

Microsoft develops games? Since when?

This game was made by tri-Ace, and is published by Square-Enix.

tri-Ace is very Japanese. They made the Star Ocean series.

Actually aside from being a 360 exclusive, I couldn't find any ties between this game and Microsoft.

That doesnt look like an action RPG at all... looks more traditional.

did that chick call pikachu? oh lord this game will suck  :p

Sorry, looks like the worst people from tri-ace. Doesn't even look to compare to the quality of the Star Ocean games.

With the influx of all these titles, it seems the 360 is getting shafted in terms of quality RPGs, with no inspiration. The Final Fantasy series seems to remain the only JRPG series that actually holds potential and has any bit of quality. FWIW, I am stoked for FFXIII. The FF games are just put together so well and have very good storylines, even if set in crazy worlds.

Looks a bit like Eternal Sonata which I liked. I also liked Blue Dragon and even Lost Odyssey so I'll give this one a shot.

I never played the Star Ocean. I guess I'll pick those up and see how they play to get a hold on how Tri-Ace's games are.

This game looks very similar to the Star Ocean games, so I have no clue what you are talking about. The gameplay, plot, characters...all of it.

Did you even watch the video? This is clearly and action RPG, like the rest of tri-ace's games.

I feel like older JRPGs (Chrono Trigger, Seiken Densetsu 3, etc) were better, but perhaps that is just due to the glasses of nostalgia. There are a few recent one that I enjoyed, such as Lost Odyssey and Persona 3, but they still don't exactly compare.

And yes, undiscovery is a stupid made-up word. I believe the team at 1up had a whole interview with the dev about choosing that phrase as a title.

Finally, there is a reason why you can select japanese voice acting for games. English voice acting for tri-ace's games have always been pretty terrible, the one exception being Radiata Stories.

They should halt production and put all available resources towards making a Xenogears sequel that is worthy of the name

So, is anyone else interested in this game? It comes out next week. I hear that it has its issues, but is fun.

Can I nominate this game for stupidest name ever?

Shame it's 360 exclusive though because it actually looks pretty cool.

360 has some quality rpgs. Eternal Sonata, Lost Odyssey.

I actually think FFXII made me less interested to play FFXIII and that FF is the series that is lacking. There are better rpg series. Persona being the first example that comes to me.
