its okay. I guess they didn't imagine it would become so popular so they had that ending in the first one. I hated III. II was okay. They should have built up the story, 3 part movie starting from when they were in the academy and ending with the first movie.

I saw the 3rd one. It sucks because I don't understand Chinese that well. ><

I've have the three movies on DVD. Very good movies. I thought the ending for #1 was actually pretty good. Something different. I found III to be fun to watch since it put a bit of comic relief in a serious show.

The only problem I have with III on DVD is the audio is out of sync.

I thought it was decent, and so did Warner Bros.:

"Hollywood studio Warner Brothers has bought the movie's remake rights, and Brad Pitt has been named as one of the film's possible stars. "

As for II and III, I haven't watched them yet.

ya, bro-in-law told me Hollywood is interested in buying the rights from HK...looks like that got it!

I hope they cast well, because this trilogy is too good to mess up! :)

From what I understand, Brad Pitt bought the rights to do an American version.

I think all three movies stand up pretty well on their own though the first movie was much better than the prequel and sequel. Lots of classic scenes in the first movie; the look on Tony Leung's face when they swap speaker cables in the audio shop cracked me up. The prequel and sequel were good in the sense that they weren't blatant ripoffs of the first movie.

i have all 3, i think the first one is the best. 3rd one was a bit strange and a let down from all the hype and expetation.

Yeah, 3 paled in comparison...y'think they could've hired someone with acting skills to play Leon's role.
