Inexpensive, super-portable subnotebook!

I found a rather interesting notebook here:
Averatec sub-notebook at Geeks.com
It's only 1000$, appears to have a reasonably sized keyboard, and is similar in size to those Sony sub-micro laptops that cost three times as much. As an added bonus, it comes with a 60gb hard drive an a reasonable 512mb of RAM. The processor is only 1 ghz, though, and the screen is 10.5"; not terribly large, to say the least.

On another note, the battery is a pretty well-sized 44 Watt-hour unit. Considering the ultra-low-voltage Celeron M processor and small screen, this should give 4-5 hours of battery life. (I don't believe they give the specifics.)

Out of curiousity, can anyone give their experiences with Averatec notebooks? I might look at at one of these used as an option for my next laptop.

EDIT: Averatec now also has a similar laptop that falls into the "thin-and-light" laptop category. It's also about 1000$ after shipping, has a 1.6 Ghz pentium M, 80 GB hard drive, DVD burner, and 512mb of RAM. It's got a 13.3" LCD and looks pretty slim, but weighs a slightly less than amazing 6.75 lbs.
I personally would rather have a Toshiba Satellite; they don't cost much more.

Considering that the only one of the two I'd buy (the 3 lb. one) has a 900 mhz. processor, I doubt it would make a difference. After all, it's really not useful for anything but the most basic tasks.

For the record, I'm not employed by averatec; I just want to know if they're any good before I buy one. (Personally, I'm pretty leery of inexpensive laptops; my "great for the price" dell has been a nightmare.)
