Inexpensive, Quiet CPU Cooler (P4)

Right now I'm using the stock cooler and my temps are creeping up to 55+ under load. The fan is getting loud too, might just be old at this point.

I am looking for a cpu cooler that attaches with the mounting clips for the p4, not to be screwed on. And I'd like it to be quiet while still doing the job ok, so perhaps I was thinking something with an 80, 90+ mm fan.

Also probably gonna replace the case fans, any ideas?

PS - I'm using a p4 1.6a right now, not the 2.4 prescott in my sig. Same motherboard tho.

thanks

what is your case temperature. this is the biggest factor in cooling a computer. if your ambient temperature around your cpu is 40C then the absolute coldest that your cpu can be is 40C. if you improve airflow and bring the ambient down to between 28 and 31, i can guarantee you wont need a new hsf

yes its a bit high, 39C

but I need new case fanse as well, and I want something quieter.. it sounds like a jet engine....

i dropped my a64 temps by 10C by dropping my ambient temp from 40 to 30. As far as loudness ok, that is a good enough excuse to get a new hsf then
