Looking for a temporary card for a couple of months until money is less tight( and prices come down on the new DX10 cards).

No gpu or brand preference but the rest of the system will be Intel E6400, EVGA 680i SLI motherboard, and some Corsair DDR2.

Hoping to get a reasonable gaming videocard for under $100 if possible. Shader model 3 not important and speed is valued most. BF2, COD2, Q4, and UT2004 are most played games

Thanks in advance.

7600GT. You can get one at newegg for almost $100 after rebate.

If you can spend a little more than $100, then the way to go would be the 7600GT. I have seen them for less than $120, but not less than $100. The 7600GT is a very solid card and will handle all the recent games (maybe not with all the eye candy, but very competently).

Good luck.

Ended up with a 7900GS since I had some gift card credits to redeem and it was on sale at Worst Buy.

Anybody need an AGP X850XT ? :D

I like this 7900GS fine but honestly I can't see the speed difference between it and my old X850XT although the various 3DMark programs tell me it's faster. :p

At least I have moved to the more "modern" PCI-E and am one step closer to being able to move to a regular motherboard instead of my reliable yet poor overclocking ASRock-775DualVSTA. And SLI if I ever want to do that.
