ok, so after transfering many programs from my laptop to my new system (didn't transfer registry data due to difference in systems), I now have ALOT of registry discrepencies that need to be fixed sometime soon. However, I don't really want to shell out the $30 required of me if I get registry mechanic. Does ANYONE know of a GOOD, solid, registry cleaner LIKE registry mechanic that's freeware or shareware (has to be less expensive), or should I just shell out the $30 for registry mechanic (b/c I can't beat the quality for the price) and forget about it?

Note, I'm not looking for warez or anything. Legit only, please. I'm willing to pay, but $30 seems a bit steep to fix stuff simply b/c I didn't tranfer the registry data with the programs (went from a crappy PIIIm 1 Ghz laptop to a sleek Athalon64 3500+ desktop, thus there would be problems if I tranfered the registry from the laptop to the desktop), considering I already legally own these programs (thinks like MS Office....may just reinstall this, and AIM, Morrowind, all kinds of games, etc.).

I'm using regscrubxp, which is freeware. I don't know if it would suit your needs, but as it's free, have a look at least. I found it and other free cleaners at nonags.com
