Inexpensive (ongoing) hardware IPS or SPI firewall?

So my PC usage has grown over the years in the house, and I am now upto 5 PCs.

At work I have an IPS to supplement a firewall, but these things cost like 10k each and I can't afford to put one in the house.

Is there something inexpensive out there, within a reasonable price range for home use? Dont' want to pay more than say $200 a year for keeping it current and updated.

Thanks

I like using smoothwall, great free product. Check out their forums as well. They have a section for homebrew customization for smoothwall 3.0. Lots of great addon to enhance smoothwall functionality.

I really like m0m0wall and pfSense. pfSense is a bit better as it is an improved version of m0n0wall. I generally buy a m1n1wall for www.netgate.com - just go to firewalls. They are very small and reliable systems running a Geode processor. I *love* these. $200 gets you one.
