Inexpensive device to stream Pandora over wifi

I have an extra set of 2.1 computer speakers in a spare room. I'd like to stream Pandora over those speakers. I could connect my android phone to the input jack, but I'd rather not run down my phone battery.

Is there an inexpensive, and preferably small, device that will let me stream Pandora over wifi?

Can a used smartphone be used to connect to wifi without activating it with a carrier?


With an iPod can I avoid installing software on my pc if I want to use it as described above?
