Inexpensive CD-ROM that plays vertically?

I'm looking for a CD-ROM, preferrably cheap, that can load and play vertically/on it's side.

Why? We have mini-towers, and it would be nice to put them sideways underneath the desk drawer hutch.

The desktop cases I've checked out (Inwin H500, Enlight 7200, AOPen HX95) all had only 250W PS and were about one inch too wide...

Any recommendations?

I see no reason why you can't use a "regular" CD-ROM to play cds vertically. It would just be a little more of an inconvenience when inserting and taking them out.

Come to think of it, you could probably modify the end of the tray with a small piece to hold the CD. Like a little plastic piece glued onto the side closest to the ground, parallel to the floor, and perpendicular to the CD tray normal.

But I really don't know much and there may be "special" CD-ROMs available for your purpose.

I've never had a problem using standard CD-ROM sideways. We have a handful of HP Vectra desktops here in the office that people chose to stand on their sides. Even mine is on its side. No problems at all.
