I keep seeing "inexpensive" cases listed for around 50 - 100 Bucks. Do you think they will be OK for the system I am Building:
AMD Athlon XP 1800+
Asus A7V333 w/ RAID
256MB Corsair CAS2 DDR333 RAM

I will be putting in all of my old hardware; 40X CD, 8x20 CDR, 60 Gig HD. Geforce2 MX 400, Sound Blaster Live Platinum 5.1, Network Card, SCSI card, etc. Will one of the less expensive cases with a 300 Watt PS be OK. Also I bought a Retail AMD chip, will the heatsink and fan that come on it be fine? I would really appreciate any help, and any specific examples for the case. I am already sleeping on the couch for upgrading again, so money is an issue with the old lady. Thanks

You can usually score an Enlight 7237 with a 300w psu for around $65. Real good mid grade case.

No case is fine, I ran my compute ron a piece of cardboard under my desk for 6 months ;) Just make sure you have an okay powersupply hehe

Anyways, $100 gets you a nice case, imo antec cases would go under the nice catagory, $50 is decent, <$50 is cutting costs.Over $100 is 99% looks.

I'd look for a case at a local computer store if you wanna try an dsave money, buyin a case is expensiving in shipping, save $20 and get a nicer case localy if you can.

Bestbuy even had some antec cases last itme i was there, dunno what htey were charing, but you can at least try. Frys or something owuld be a better bet tho.
