Dear NFL,
I'm not sure what retard you hired in the publicity department, but allow me to explain. There are a large number of losers in this country who love nothing better than to waste their time watching the drama unfold on Jersey Shore and other similar reality pieces of crap. The football demographic has *some* overlap with the idiot demographic. However, your attempt to dramatize the off-season - to treat your fans like a bunch of brain dead idiots, has lost you another fan.

I know it's hard to believe, but he has retired.

Move along, nothing to see. Won't stop the incessant reports by every team looking for a QB, unfortunately.

Another reason I'm gaining more interest in college ball and less interest in the NFL.

I'm all for it -- it is increasingly looking like Manning may miss the opener and maybe even more games. If that happens, what better QB is available than Favre? The only other available QB I can think of who might work out OK would be Bulger, who is also retired.

The Colts' backup QBs suck. Bad. REALLY bad.

they should get brett favre and randy moss, because they are brett favre and randy moss.

ok, the real reason is because it would add to the soap opera.

I can't wait until I have grandchildren (if I am lucky enough).
I will sit around at Thanksgiving, watching football, making Favre jokes that no one gets.

That's what you think. Your grandchildren will be cracking jokes about whether Favre's 27th retirement in 2038 is legit or not.

He had surgery a couple months ago on his neck (again). Apparently it's not healing as quick as they expected.

Dungy said Manning will start for opening game...I think he will as well, doesn't wanna ruin that record.

Honestly, if I was a franchise QB and didn't think I was healthy enough to:

A - Be more than 90% effective
B - Be at risk to be injured early on and be out for the rest of the season

I'd sit myself. Manning is smart enough to know when he'd be a liability to the team.
