not a big surprise. There's only room for two consoles to be successful on the market, and we already have 4 companies.

I can's say I'm surprised though the Indrema actually looked pretty decent.

<< Who needs Indrema, if you got XBOX >>

Yeah, great, a console with a bloated OS... great news.. Maybe we will finally see a console that needs windows update and seven service packs before it runs properly... It is about as hyped as W2K was and that WXP is right now... and look what we got, one system that needs bug fixes to work properly (how many hot fixes are there for W2K?) and one OS that will only work if Bill Gates gives you permission to run the product that you purchased... Still many people swear by it and will refuse to even give another product a fair chance...

I wouldn't use an XBOX even if i got paid for it...

I can't wait for Xbox it looks good.I use Linux by the way also but I personally didn't care about Indrema they didn't look like they had support from developers anyways. As all consoles get better its the games which make the system not the hardware itself.

Patrick your ignorance shines through. The Xbox will not have a bloated OS. It will not have anything more than any other console has. The DC uses windows CE and does it have any problems? The Xbox will not require any updates or crap like that.

The hardware has to be able to do the job, the SW will become more advanced and who in their right mind would buy a PIII 600 for a gaming machine???????

The Xbox uses a CPU that was intended for general use, not for gaming, it uses an OS that was intended for office applications and the only thing that can ever make it a winner is the NV25 video that was optimized for gaming... And lately, i have heard that that solution might not be the best one either...

Maybe I failed to say my point.I meant to say that the games will make a system a hit or a failure.Of course hardware is important but specs arent everything as long as the games run great and are good I dont really mind I found my psx2 to be a disappointment.

The games sell the console, not the console that sells the games.

I wouldn't have paid $300 for PS2 if it wasn't for GT3 and MSG2, and I will not pay for N Cube if it's not for Mario. Not sure if I'd get XBOX though coz I don't have any games I want to play with XBOX yet...

You better know what you are talking about when you make a statement like that...

<< . The Xbox will not have a bloated OS. It will not have anything more than any other console has >>

Which other console uses the W2K kernel??????????????? None that i know of, there are already two service packs for W2K and a third one in the works, plus a number of hotfixes, if you didn't know that...

And the W2K kernel isn't bloated???? What are you smoking?? Even the Windows CE kernel is bloated if you compare it to a pure Linux gaming kernel (or any kernel for that matter), obviously you do not have any clue what so ever about these things so if anyones ignorance shines through, well then it is yours...

<< The Xbox will not require any updates or crap like that >>

Yeah, right... Has MS ever made ANY OS that didn't require service packs to run properly? Like W2K, they delayed it several times so that it would be perfect, how many hotfixes are out now? How many service packs?
