While I may not like it, at the end of the day, I have no problem paying $300 electrical bills if I am kept cool and comfy. We generally have the thermostat set to 72 when we're in the house (it is on a schedule that varies based on time of day), but when it is really hot out, I may notch it down a couple of degrees for a while to try to cool the upstairs a little more.
You guys who keep your houses in the mid 80s or higher are nuts. My man cave upstairs will occasionally hit 84 (even with AC on; it isn't ventilated very well and has a server and HTPC running 24/7) and that is way too hot for my liking.
