I live on the 2nd floor of a 7 story condo unit and to the west of me are two bigger buildings in the 30-40 floor range, so I don't get a ton of natural light during the day..basically 3pm feels like it's 7pm.

Any suggestions on how to get a more "natural" light feel without having to turn on all the lights from the afternoon on?

I just got the latest Philips 100w LED bulb ($20/ea) this afternoon & popped it into a floor lamp...very warm lighting & runs at just 19w. I know you don't want a bulb solution, but if it comes to that, check them out...nice yellowy glow that fills up the room really nice.

Hard to go wrong with wall torches. Gives a nice amber light, with gothic charm,
