Ahh, I miss living in a house. So, I live in an apartment and grilling outside is out of the question, I have no balcony and I'm too lazy to walk to the grilling area. Now, I used to have an indoor electric grill but I can't find any of them in stores so I can get a first hand look at them. I find plenty of George Formans and Griddles, but no electric grills. Now, I fancy this Zojirushi EB-CC15 but I want to look at it first. There also a T-Fal and a Sanyo that seem capable of the job too.

I've been to Sears, Wal-mart, Target, nad Best buy but can't find any of these type of items in store. Anyone know of a store that would carry these or have recommendations of one they've tried?

Just a word of warning; those things are HELL to clean. The grill plates are HUGE and are really awkward when you're trying to scrub them in the sink. My parents have stopped using theirs because of that aspect.

Interesting... Used to use them at home a lot, but I guess I wouldn't know because my mom would wash it. :D

I have two serious reservations.

First, is it really hot enough? I cannot say, but there is point two, which is that venting an indoor portable grill would seem problematic.

Yes, they are hot enough. I've used them to grill steaks, at least half an inch to an inch thick, done seafood and all that. Plus, most of them have a drip pan, where the fat and little things would fall between the grill holes into a water resevoir, eliminating a lot of the smoke. Nothing grilling next to a window can't fix. If it gets bad, a fan would almost get rid of all the smoke.

Yeah, I have one hooked up to this, and I have to manipulate the food using a robotic tungsten arm; it's that hot.

I have a Farberware grill/rotisserie that's still going strong after 20 years. It's great in the winter when cooking outside isn't possible. It makes the house smell good, too. :D

Yea, I have one of those. :) They're great. The electric grill is for whne we're cooking and watching tv at the same time. One of those asian things where you cook, then put it into a roll and dip and eat.

I've used them, but I don't like them. I'd use a forman before one of those again.
