Why would women even want to serve in such an army? I can only guess its a sign of honor or something. I wish I could say those people are living in the 19th century but their weird beliefs are timeless.

Boy did I hear the same thing from friends around the world over the last few years, and still are hearing it now being in Florida (covid).

Florida IS a backwards place to live. But theres no disputing that. Its not up for debate.

The rest of the US IS Florida, to some degree. Some less, some even more. You won't see me defending this place, but I've been around a bit and it's not like you pass a fence in south Georgia and things suddenly get weird.

To be fair, I'd go live in China (knowing people there) before I'd try to live in Indonesia. China sucks but at least they aren't prone to religious nuttery.
