Indigo Prophecy on PC?

this game looks interesting but is quite old now. I was wondering if it is worth fooling with on PC though at $4.99. I was thinking about picking up a PS 2 so should I get it on the PS 2 or PC?

It's quite dated, but I think it's unique enough to warrant playing. You can play through it relatively quickly. No clue about the version preference - I only played on PC.

Same here. Only played on PC. Loved it! It's worth $5, but really should be $2.50 for how old it is and being only single player.

I played it on the PC and it was fun. Shouldn't have any trouble running it on any remotely recent hardware.

I thought it was a good game. It was developed by the same people that made Heavy Rain. The story is awesome, but it being an adventure game, the replay value is pretty low.

Also, don't pick it up if you don't like quick-time events. Your interaction with the story is following sequences of quick-time sequences using the arrow keys and the numpad.

This is what made me hate the game. Quicktime events are the worst innovation in gaming history.

I think Hate is a little strong. But I'm one of the guys who heard good things about the game, tried it, and dumped it after about 2 hours. Wasn't my cup of tea. Although I do get the appeal to some people with the atmosphere.

I thought the story was a bit out there. But what I enjoyed was the ride, tone, and atmosphere.

Anyway there is a demo available, it's just not on steam.

I cannot get the demo to install.

Direct2Drive has Fahrenheit: Indigo Prophecy Directors Cut. I might just grab that later since the Steam version is censored and not even patched.

all the button pushing has me thinking this might be a better experience on a PS 2 though.

Bought it on steam a while back, its not bad but I agree with Sviper. The game might not be for you.

If you don't have a gamepad, I might just get it on the ps2 or xbox since some of the things you're required to do might be easier on a controller than a mouse and keyboard.

I have a 360 controller but the game doesn't work correctly with it according to reviews.

Nah, the kb/m works totally fine. Though if it doesn't work on WIn7 and that's your only OS you may not have a choice.

okay I went ahead and picked it up from D2D and this game is just cruel with a keyboard/mouse. you cant just walk normally usng the keyboard and use the mouse to look around. you basically have tank movements with the keyboard and using the mouse to walk around just doesn't feel right. also the damn camera view will change right about the time I figure out how to walk properly. I actually started feeling a little sick just trying to control my character and the camera. too bad the 360 controller doesn't work properly for this game because keyboard/mouse is not the way to play IMO.

Oh, yes. Sorry I couldn't remind you of that. It's unforgiving in my opinion. As I said, 2 hrs....

uninstalled after about an hour. obviously quickly pressing random combination of wasd and 8456 was more than my brain could handle.
